An individual’s passion for producing films as well as his utopian vision of world peace centering on the true love of God have resulted in a new paradigm – films on Peace and Spirituality as the theme. Director of Asian Academy of Film & TV Sandeep Marwah had thought of organizing a Global Festival of Film on Peace and Spirituality which was to be held under the auspices of International Film & Television Club. His dream was realized when 98 entries to the proposed film festival had been received from close to 200 thousand film production houses, film schools and filmmakers of the world. Twenty entries were short listed for the consideration of the film festival Jury. All this was possible only after a series of symposium, talks and a Peace March in Delhi by the students of AAFT & ASMS. Also, the curtain raising ceremony of the Global event was Global itself. It was difficult for the Jury to select a few films, but they did, Twenty Entries were selected by the Jury. Six award winning films: (1) A Muslim but not a Terrorist (2) Poor Bro, Rich Bro (3) 18th June (4) Vishwas Ki Goonj (5) At Yudh (6) Hope were selected ,of which first two best films were screened on the award day at the Preview Theatre of Marwah Studios. Later talking to the Press the Chairman of the International Film & Television Club and former Director of Govt. of India’s Directorate of Film Festivals Malti Sahai said that this film festival has been greatly appreciated by the independent and short filmmakers of the world and such film festivals will be a regular feature in the time to come. |
