Producer
of memorable feature film Umrao Jaan, Muzaffar Ali
said that he has great fascination for the works
of film – art. He was inaugurating an
international festival of short digital films
produced by University of Media Arts in New Delhi.
This event was the first public function attended
by the renowned and sensitive artist after
receiving the coveted Padma Shree award of the
year 2005. Stating that the medium of film has a
great potential to explore and document human
experience, Muzaffar Ali hoped that the filmmakers
of next generation will make use of the existing
infrastructure at the Film City in the national
capital region, to do their work.
Complementing
Sandeep Marwah for establishing the International
Film & Television Club the former director of
the Directorate of Film Festival Malti Sahai said
that film festivals do go a long way to support
production of good films. The former director of
Pune based National Film Archive of India, P.K.
Nair who was also present on this occasion,
said that as a connoisseur of film art, he is ever
willing to lend all possible support and help in
film studies to the students of Cinema.
