About the University

At the University of Media Arts, we have carefully considered whether media education and training should be a craft model, which is learnt more less on the job, or a professional model in which training encompasses more than just craft. We have taken a view that media-print or electronic-education needs to be more towards a professional model. According to us, due emphasis needs to be laid on the creation, distribution and processing of the information. We also believe that the route to a career is media should be via learning the practical skills for reporting, writing and editing; learning how to learn these as a lifelong skill as well as learning the
ethics of communication.
This course will, therefore, help the students develop the sills directly related to their career goal as well as academic knowledge such as the social system of a country that are not so directly related to it. The requirement of skills for various segments of the media industry will be duly covered so as to prepare the students to face the challenges of the fiercely competitive industry. The university of Media Arts courses will take into account the advancing technology and the changing social scene.

About the University of Media Arts
  • The University of Media Arts has been established by Act. of the
    Legislative Assembly of Chattisgarh.
  • It is a private university which aims at preparing well educated,
    responsive and responsible media professionals with adequate knowledge of
    the art and craft of the communication process .
  • The University of Media Arts has a full fledges campus at Noida. Two
    other campuses Raipur and New Delhi are being planned.
  • The campuses of the University of Media Arts are run by societies
    registered under the laws of the state in which they are located.
  • . Various campuses are affiliated to the parent body-the University of
    Media Arts.
  • . Authorized Study Centers at various campuses are permitted to run diploma
    courses duly approved by the University of Media Arts.
  • Curricula for the various degree and diploma courses are designed,
    updated and duly approved by the Academic Council of the university. These
    are strictly followed by its study centers.
  • Examinations for various degree and diploma courses conducted at the
    campuses of the University of Media Arts, are conducted by its Controller of
    Examination.
  • The courses offered by the first media university in this part of the
    world, are relevant to professional careers in the industry, besides
    approaching the communication process from humanities and social science
    angles.

Objectives of the University of Media Arts
1.To provide instructions, teaching and training in higher education and make provisions for research, advancement and dissemination of knowledge.
2.To achieve excellence specially, in education in visual communication and other art-forms.
3.To create higher levels of intellectual abilities
4.To establish state of the art facilities for education and training
5. To carry out teaching and research and offer continuing education programs
6. To create centers of excellence for research
7. To provide consultancy to the industry and program organizations
8. To establish beside the main campus, study centers at different places in India and other countries.
9. To institute graduate, post graduate and doctorate degrees, diplomas certificates and other academic distinctions.
10. To ensure that the standard of the degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions are not lower than those laid down by AIC/NCTE/UGC/MCI and Pharmacy Council etc.

 

The following are the instructions for seeking admission to
Asian Academy of Film & TV/Asian School of Media Studies
(University of Media Arts):

1. E-mail the application for admission on the form available on the website.
2.
Print out the application form from the website http:/www.aaft.com/programs/applynow.html. Fill in this application form and mail it duly completed to Director, Asian Academy of Film & TV / Asian School of Media Studies, FC-14/15, Film City, Sector-16A, Noida - 201 301, India. Registration fee of Rs. 15,000/- for three month courses and Rs. 20,000/- for one year course should simultaneously be remitted in the name of the Institution.
3. The following is required to be furnished with the application for admissions.
a. Telephone & Fax Number
b. Photocopy of the education qualification.
c. Photocopies of the certificate of co-curricular activities, if any.
d.
Medical certificate (blank specimen is available on the website) from a qualified medical practitioner.
e. Reference certificate (blank specimen) is available on the website.
f. 5 recent passport size photographs.
4. Await the formal approval of the application by the admission committee.
5.
A letter confirming the admission to Asian Academy of Film & TV / Asian School of Media Studies will be mailed after the approval.
6. Nearest Indian mission may, thereafter, be approached for your visa.
7.
Inform the institute about your travel plan so that hospitality department can send representative to the Airport.
