IS THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE - MUKHTAR ABBAS NAQVI
The
hon ble former minister for information
and broadcasting Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi urged
that the god s gift to the talented
lyricists, singers and musicians should be
used to spread the message of mutual love,
goodwill and religious tolerance as well as
for building an ideal society. Mukhtar Abbas
Naqvi was formally releasing the latest album
of religious songs produced by Marwah Films
& Video Studios. Talking of the extra
ordinary power of music to provide mental
peace and for relieving tension, he congratulated
Prof. Sandeep Marwah for encouraging budding
artistes in various ways. In an abvious reference
to the growing popularity of music television
channels like MTV and VTV, the hon ble
former minister said that presently the music
is seen more than it is heard. Speaking on
this occasion , the well known threatre personality
of Delhi who had also acted in Satyajit Ray
s feature film Shatranj - ke - khilari,
Sita Raina said that presently the music not
only caresses the soul but it is also a great
healer of mind and body. Music provides relaxation
which is so very necessary for the performing
artistes, she added. The vice president of
the renowned Music company Tips Rajeev Sogani
was also present in the Jam packed auditorium
of Asian Academy of Film & Television
on this occasion. |

ANOTHER
FEATHER IN THE CAP OF - MARWAH STUDIOS
The
actors and the director of megaventure Badhai
recently celebrated the completion of the
shooting work in the company of creme de la
creme of the Delhi society and the top management
of Marwah Studios which had provided valuable
professional support while several scenes
of this feature film were shot in and around
national capital region for nearly 50 days.
The shooting work of this feature film in
the national capital region was jointly carried
out by the cast and crew from Bollywood, Hollywood
and the Noida Film City based Marwah Studio.
As a matter of fact Marwah Studios have been
associated with the indoor and outdoor shooting
work of now famous feature films like Bandit
Queen, Dil Se, Beta, Abhay, Sirf Tum and Hamara
Dil Aapke Paas Hai to name a few, in a big
way. Superstar Anil Kapoor, the leading lady
of the film with enviable dancing ability
and perfect vital statistics Shilpa Shetty,
talented actress Keerti Reddy and versatile
director of the film Satish Kaushik as well
as large number of guests were political heavyweights
Amar Singh, Rajiv Shukla and MS Bitta; President
of Asian Academy of Film & TV Sandeep
Marwah well known film director Raj Kumar
Santoshi and the well known Singer Narender
Chanchal were present on this occasion. Impressed
by the facilities available at and the support
recieved from Marwah Studios, Film Star Anil
Kapoor and Director Satish Kaushik who have
jointly produced the feature film Badhai-Ho-Badhai,
intend to shoot their forthcoming film too
in the national capital region. Full of promise
to win the heart and mind of the audience,
the feature film Badhai Ho Badhai is going
to be released on 14th June. |

MARWAH - VISITS EAST ASIAN COUNTRIES
The
President of Asian Academy of Film & TV
and Marwah Films & Video Studios Sandeep
Marwah had recently spent good ten days in
Singapore and Kualalumpur, hunting for locations
for shooting films. He had taken time from
his work at Noida Film City on request from
a section of Mumbai film producers to help
them. He received valuable support in this
work from the management of Holiday Inn Chain
of Hotels in Hongkong, Singapore and Malaysian
region - an affiliate of Delhi based renowned
travel agency Marwell Tour & Travels.
Sandeep Marwah had a close look at this region
from the eyes of a film maker and identified
a number of exotic locations for shooting
films. He also look this opportunity to meet
the public figures and media personalities
of the region to exchange views on the current
film and television production scene in this
part of the world. They took keen interest
in the excellent training being conducted
by Asian Academy of Film & TV and hoped
that aspirants of a career in the Film &
Television industries from their part of the
world will take advantage of the opportunity
being offered by this institute. Mr. Dinky

INDO-SUDANESE
- CULTURAL FORUM LAUNCHED FROM AAFT
History
in Indo-Sudanese relations was created on
7th June 2002 when the visiting Sudanese minister
Mr. Siddik Mugataba recently announced the
setting up of the Indo-Sudanese Cultural Forum
and appointed Prof. Sandeep Marwah as the
chairperson of its India chapter. The hon
ble minister was addressing the students of
Asian Academy Of Film & Television after
the tour of Marwah Films & Video Studios
at Noida Film City. Pointing out to the universal
appeal and the unique unifying power of the
films, the hon ble minister said that
Indian movies indeed depict realism in adequate
measure. Paying rich tribute to the genius
of Indian film makers, he said that Indian
movies are indeed very popular in his country.
The hon ble minister also sought the
cooperation of Asian Academy of Film &
TV in the training of Sudanese film &
television personnel and production of feature
films in his country. Earlier describing Asian
Academy of Film & TV as one of India
s success stories, the Ambassador of Sudan
in India HE Mr. Abadalmahmood Abdalhaleem
Mohammed said that Sudan has to learn a lot
from the Indian experience. Pleading for closer
cooperation between the Indian and Sudanese
film and television industries, the ambassador
invited Indian filmmakers to Sudan to do their
work. Expressing his gratitude to Prof. Sandeep
Marwah for providing excellent training to
the employees of Sudan Television in the recent
past, Mr. Abdalmahmood Abdalhaleem Mohammed
desired continued cooperation between Asian
Academy of Film & TV and the Govt. Of
Sudan. The high powered delegation from Sudan
included Mr. Mekki Sinada, advisor to the
hon ble minister, Mr. Abdalgadir Abdal
Wahab, director general, tourism; Ms Fathima
Mohammed Ahmadoun, director general, foreign
relations, and Mr. Abdalla Mohammed Abdel
Rahiman, director film production also accompanied

FOCUSED ON YOUR GOALS - JOGINDER SINGH
The
Former director of CBI and presently member
of the executive committe of the interpol
Joginder Singh, made a fervent plea for effectively
using just few hours available every day to
us for working seriously for achieving the
goals in life. The supercop nicknamed tiger,
was formally releasing the new quarterly magazine
Nature & Waelth at Marwah
Studios in the Noida Film City. He said that
it is important firstly to set the targets
to be achieved and then to assiduosly work
for the same. In order to build a happy and
prosperous society, each one of us should
carry out our work properly and with a smile,
he added. Reminding the students of Asian
Academy Of Film & TV that there can be
a healthy mind only in a healthy body and
that prevention is better than cure, Joginder
Singh advised them to set apart sometime daily
for physical exercises. The octogenarian former
member of parliament Mr. R. C. Vikal who was
the guest of honour at the function said vegetarian
food is indeed good for everyone. Sharing
the secret of his good health, he recommended
few yogic exercises which don t require
any paraphernalia. The publisher of the periodical
Kamal Bhatia said that it is the great potential
of flora and fauna - the nature s gift
to the mankind which had motivated him to
inform and educate the people on the subject

PROUD OF INDIAN CULTURE - DR. BHISHMA NARAIN
SINGH
Former
governor and union minister Dr. Bhishma Narain
Singh strongly pleaded for the use of films
and television for building a happy healthy
and sane society.The honorable former governor
was delivering the inaugural address at Asian
Academy of Film & Television. Dr. Bhishma
Narain Singh Urged the students to be proud
of Indian culture and not to blindly copy
the western ones. Reminding the students of
extraordinary power of the audio visual medium
to influence the human mind, Dr. Bhishm Narain
Singh asked the film makers to create public
opinion through their work, againest the menace
of terrorism. The Charge d Affaires
of Turkmenistan in India Dr. Chinar Rustamova
presented on behalf of the head of her government
and people the national dress of Turkmenistan,
to Prof. Sandeep Marwah . Dr. Chinar Rustamova
said that the internationally renowned Asian
Academy of Film & Television is indeed
a symbol of universal love and peace. The
well known singer Satish Babbar and Shri honorable
member of UP legislative assembly Shri Choudhary
also addressed the gathering. |

AFESTIVAL
OF ASIAN CINEMA
Yet
another festival of Asian cinema-the fourth
in the series - has been organised by the
international Network for the Promotion of
Asian Cinema (Netpac) in the Indian capital
New Delhi. This mega event being supported
by a number of organisations like Indian Council
of Cultural Relations, embassies of Egypt
and France in India, the Delhi Administration
and the Japan Foundation will be fromally
inaugurated by the hon ble Chief Minister
of Delhi Ms. Shiela Dikshit at the sirifort
auditorium on the coming 19th July. Asian
Academy of Film & TV is fully supporting
the renowned film writer Ms. Aruna Vasudev
in her efforts to promote Asian Cinema and
highlight the creative work of filmmakers
from this part of the world. According to
Prof. Sandeep Marwah more than sixty films
from twenty five Asian countries and few western
ones will screened during this unique film
festival and international Jury will select
the best film, best actor and best actress
out of thirteen competing films. The hon
ble minister for information & Broadcasting
Ms. Sushma Swaraj will give away the awards
in the closing function on the 29th July. |

YEARS OF ASIAN ACADEMY OF FILM & TV
Students
of the thirty fifth session of AAFT were thrilled
to mingle with large number of celebrities
on the lush green lawns of sprawling Marwah
Films & Video Studio. Prominent amongst
those joined Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian
Academy Of Film & TV for the dinner he
recently had hosted to celebrate nine years
of AAFT, were former information & Broadcasting

11 YEARS
OF MARWAH STUDIOS CELEBRATED
The
great showman of Indian film industry Boney
Kapoor accompanied by film stars Sridevi and
Anil Kapoor were present at the dinner hosted
by Sandeep Marwah to celebrate successful
functioning of Marwah studio. Large number
of distinguished guest including Rajya Sabha
Member Dr. T. Subbarami Reddy, former governor
of UP Dr. B. Satyanarayana Reddy, president
of Sahara TV Mahesh Prasad, singer Jawahar
Wattal chairman of All India Anti Terrorist
Front M.S. Bitta, former chief secretary of

the planning film city of north India where

JOINS ASIAN CINEMA MOVEMENT
Filmic
expression a photographic copy of reality,
is invariably influenced by the social, economic,
political and religious environment in which
the filmmaker is placed. In this regard, the
education of the filmmaker also matters. Asian
Academy of Film & TV has been assiduously
trying to ensure creation of good cinema by
imparting purposeful education and training
to the aspirants of a career in the show business
while they are impressionable. New Delhi based
CINEFAN had organised the fourth Cinemaya
festival of films mainly from Asia s
geographic spread, during 19-28 july this
year. Prof. Sandeep Marwah who had been supporting
Ms. Aruna Vasudev s movement to bring
to prominence the work of filmmakers of Asia
was also associated with the organisers of
this memorable event. 60 films from 25 countries
including 17 Asian countries were screened
during the festival which opened with the
premiere of feature film Samasara - a co-production
of Indian, French, German and Italian cast
and crew and closed with Buddhadev das Gaupta
s feature film Tale Of Naughty Girl. An international
Jury adjudged Three Brothers (Kazakhitan)
as the best feature film; Jajang C. Noer (Indonesia)
as the best actress; Jacky Cheng (Hongkong)
as the best actor among the entries in the
competition section. The NETPAC (Network for
promotion of Asian Cinema) award went to the
feature film Lan Yu (Hongkong). CINEFAN paid
its tribute to the great filmmaker Akira Kurosawa
who can be said to have introduced. Asian
Cinema by screening eight of his masterpiece
films including Rashomon. Kurosawa had made
a mark in the world of cinema which comes
with consummate artistic and critical success
combined with popular appreciation. Ambassadors
HE Mr. Hiro Hirabayashi, of Japan, HE Mr.
Bernard De Monteferrand of France and HE Mr.
Ladislav Volko of Slovak Republic patronised
the event. Film star Shabana Azmin formally
inaugurated the film festival. |
