History of 3D Applications in Indian Cinema
3D seems to be an alien word for some of the people around, but the adaptation of 3D content in Indian film-making is more than 20 years old.
In 1996, Anil Kapoor & Madhuri Dixit starring film Rajkumar, directed by Pankaj Parashar, was one of the first attempts to add 3D virtual sets in the traditional Bollywood film. The same film not only had 3D models, but also had animation and dynamic simulations as well.
To utilize the 3D content creation application like 3D Studio Max, a studio is required to have well equipped workstations & skilled artists. This is very much possible these days but think how it could have been possible two decades back.
There is no doubt that Hollywood is much ahead in terms of quality content, but to generate similar type of content much economically than Hollywood is the specialization of Bollywood.
