International Journalism Centre (IJC) is an international body of the journalists from all over the world. Headed by the Global Cultural Minister Sandeep Marwah, it is dedicated to foster excellence and to encourage diversity among journalists. This international group works dedicatedly to promote the flow of vital and authentic information across the platforms; to encourage an environment in which journalism can be practiced freely and fully; and to stimulate high standards and ethical behavior in the practice of journalism.
The core idea behind this initiative was to inspire successive generations of talented individuals to become dedicated journalists. With its global reach, the Centre has been involved in many national projects and international projects pertaining to journalism. International Journalism Centre has marked 12th February as the International Day of Journalism. It organizes the most prestigious and the only festival of its kind every year on this day with support from ICMEI to promote journalism worldwide.
The 1st Global Festival of Journalism Noida took place in 2013 to look after the needs of journalists and set an ideology to bring in love, peace and unity in the world through journalism. The latest event by International Journalism Centre, 5th Global Festival of Journalism was held at Marwah Studios in Noida Film City from 12th to 14th of February 2017. The main agenda of this 3 days mass event was to witness and discuss the changing trends in journalism across the globe.
The journalism festival is for broadcast, print and online journalists, journalism educators, and students of the School of Mass Communication interested in journalism. It encourages participation of foreign delegates and famous Indian media personalities through seminars and symposiums, screening of documentaries, panel discussions, exquisite interviews & interaction on national and international issues. This media event is also a felicitation platform for appreciation awards, participation honours, life time achievement awards and recognition to professionals of the media industry. The byline for this global festival is “An Event Of The Journalists, For The Journalists, By The Journalists”.
