Admission Process

Step 1: Application Form

Application Form and Prospectus can be obtained from the Counselors in the campus from Monday to Saturday, between 10 am to 6 pm, upon paying the requisite fee.

The applicants also have the option to download Application Form for offline submission.

The duly filled Application Form then needs to be submitted along with the mandatory documents. For more information, go through the Documentation List.

Step 2: Entrance Test & Interview Process

AAFT Admission process includes written test and interview for selection in the interested academic program. On successful payment of registration fees, candidate will have to follow the given steps:

Written/ Online Test: Questions will be based on the course or the specialty applied for.

Personal Interview: On successfully passing the Written/ Online Test, a Personal Interview or Telephonic/ Skype Interview (for outstation applicants) will be conducted.

Guidelines and time schedule will be duly provided to the applicant beforehand.

Step 3: Result Declaration

The assessment report will be conveyed via applicant’s registered email-id with the Admissions Department, within 3 days.

Step 4: Admission Confirmation

Successful candidate will be provided with Admission Letter from Admissions Department confirming his/her admission to the opted program. Thereupon, the applicant is required to submit the Confirmation Fee (as per his/her Plan), as initially communicated by the Admissions Counselor.

Step 5: Original Documents Submission

All Original Certificates/Documents, along with one set of attested true copies of the documents in support of their claim at the time of filling up of Application Form for Admission, will have to be presented to the Admissions Department at the time of the reporting for the scrutiny and verification. It is mandatory to get the Receipt-cum-Acknowledgement duly signed by the Admissions Department.

Eligibility Criteria

All candidates applying for Bachelor programmes must fulfill the following criteria:

Applications for Academic Year 2019-20 is open to applicants who have passed or will appear for the qualifying examinations under the higher secondary (10+2) from any recognized Board of Education such as CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE/IB and State Board, during the academic year 2018-19.

All candidates applying for Master programmes must fulfill the following criteria:

Applicants must either have appeared or passed, or will be appearing in any of the following, before July 2019:
›› Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under the 10+2+4 (or more) system, from any university or institute recognized (by law) in India.
›› Diploma in related field of study under the 10+2+4 system, from any university or institute recognized (by law) in India.

Applicants must either have passed or appeared (results awaited), in the following, before July 2019:
›› Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under the 10+2+3 system, from any university or institute recognized (by law) in India.

Note: In case Degree/Certificate has been obtained from a University/Board of any other country, then an equivalence certificate must be obtained by the candidate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, prior to admission.

Admission FAQs

When do the admissions start for the academic programs and how does one apply?

The admission process for full-time PG, UG and Diploma programs commences at different points from October till July. No Lateral Entry to the programs.

Short Term Courses of 3 months duration and 1 year Diplomas are conducted 4 times in a year, which is January-March, April-June, July-September and October-December.

Interested applicants will be required to deposit:

  • INR 15,600/- for 3 Month Short Term Course through DD drawn in favour of “Asian Academy of Film & Television” payable at Noida
  • INR 20,600/- for 1 Year PG-Diploma/Diploma Course through DD drawn in favour of “Asian Academy of Film & Television” payable at Noida
  • INR 20,600/- for UG/PG Degree Courses through DD drawn in favour of “Asian School of Media Studies” payable at Noida

The above mentioned amount is adjustable towards the course fee, only upon admission to the Academic Program.

What documents are required along with the Application Form and within how many days it gets processed?

During registration, only photocopy or scanned copy of education documents and recent color passport size photographs are required to be submitted along with the Application Form. It normally takes 3-5 working days to process the form. For details on the documentation list, visit Admission Requirements.

Can a student apply for UG/PG program in absence of 10+2/Graduation final year result?

Yes, a student may apply provisionally for any course but needs to produce all the original mark sheets/ degrees at the time of admission.

What is the selection criterion of AAFT?

The selection procedure comprises of Aptitude Test followed by Personal Interview. The entrance test is objective type and will be based on general awareness of the program applied for. Applicants must make themselves aware of the course and subject requirements prior to taking the entrance test.

Is Skype facility available for the selection process?

Yes, the Skype facility is available for the selection process. The physical presence of the applicant in the selection process is mandatory. The provision for Online Aptitude Test and Skype Interview has been extended to the Outstation/ Foreign/ NRI candidates only.

How are the Application status, Interview schedule and Selection status communicated to the candidates?

The Application status, Interview schedule as well as the Performance Report is communicated to all the applicants on the registered email address with the Admissions Department. Only the successful candidates are issued a soft copy of the Admission Letterthrough email.

What are the fee payment options available after selection?

For fee payment you may either avail online payment or make the payment with DD/ NEFT/ RTGS at Accounts Office.

Can a student make partial payment after selection so as to reserve his/her seat in the course?

Partial payments are not accepted. The selected candidate is required to pay first semester fee as well as academic security fee (if any) in full as per the deadline specified in the Admission Letter.

What if one fails to deposit the fee as per the last date mentioned on the Admission Letter?

If you are not able to pay the fee within the specified date due to some valid reason, you are required to approach the Admissions Department. Depending upon the availability of seats, further extension of date may be considered.

What all documents one need to carry on the day of admission?

A student needs to carry all the mark sheets as well as essential credentials in original along with the previous receipts.

When does the candidate report for the Academics and what is the list of documents required at that time?

Selected candidate is required to report on the program commencement date. For list of documents, selected candidates can refer to Admission Requirements.

Are there any scholarship (academic/sports) schemes?

Not at the moment.

Does the Institute offer assistance in availing Education Loan?

The Institute believes that the financial limitations are not allowed to restrict career dreams. In view of that, our institution provides assistance to all domestic candidates by giving Admission LetterFee Structure DetailsBonafide Certificate and Result Card of Entrance Examination of University (required by Banks).

Does AAFT give admissions to people from outside India?

Yes. Nationals from over 120 countries so far have studied at AAFT including countries like Jordan, Lebanon, Nepal, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, UK and USA.

Is the admission process different for International applicants?

Admissions Department judge the suitability of the candidate on the basis of information supplied with the admission. The applicant should have completed mandatory education in his/her country, in addition to possessing working knowledge of English language at the time of seeking admission. The admission process and the documentation are common to all applicants.

Does the Institute assist the international applicants in obtaining Visa?

Admission Letter issued to selected international candidates will help them in VISA process. Upon arrival in India, they need to collect a Bonafide Letter from ASMS (where FSIS ID of the applicant is mentioned) and get it registered in FRO (Foreign Registration Office) within 14 days.

What about the Medical Cover for the foreign students?

Foreign students are advised to take medical insurance in their own country, or do so upon arrival in India.

What system of education is followed at AAFT?

AAFT follows semester system which is in conformity with the global practices and standards.

What is the attendance requirement and when is the attendance calculated from?

A minimum of 75% attendance is required to appear in the examinations. Attendance of a student is calculated from the date of commencement of program or date of fee payment (whichever is later).

What is the on-campus placement criterion of the institute?

The institute assures 100% placement assistance. Campus selections are arranged from time to time for students of all programs. In order to be eligible for the recruitment process, every student is required to achieve a minimum score. Refer our placement eligibility criteria.

Is there any transportation facility for day scholars?

No. The transport facility is available only for the resident students of the hostel.

Is Hostel/Residential facility available in AAFT campus?

Off-campus hostel accommodation is available for outstation candidates. Separate residential facility for boys and girls is available within 8 km of AAFT campus. Due to limited occupancy, hostel accommodation is not offered to applicants from Delhi and NCR.

How to avail hostel accommodation?

Admission to the Hostel is done on a first come first serve basis. A student can apply for hostel seat during the registration by submitting 6 months advance. Hostel Fee is to be paid on a monthly basis and the amount is INR 11000/- inclusive of miscellaneous charges.

What are the facilities offered in hostel accommodation?

Hostel accommodation has well-ventilated rooms designed to accommodate students on twin sharing basis, where each room has attached washroom with modern sanitation facilities.

  • The hostel rooms have air conditioners for summers and water geysers for use in winters (only) as well as the essential furniture including single beds, bed mattress, study-tables, chairs and cupboards, enabling comfortable stay and to ensure a learning conducive environment.
  • Hygiene and cleanliness of the rooms, floors, laundry and surroundings are taken care of by routine house-keeping services.
  • Moreover, all rooms are networked and students are connected through a 24-hour Wi-Fi connection.
  • Daily breakfast and dinner (lunch on declared institutional holidays) will be provided.
  • The institute provides pick up and drop facilities to the resident students of the hostel. The transport timings pick up and departure from Campus are fixed and announced at the beginning of each academic year.
