First year students from School of Cinema participated in a Photo Walk to Tughlaqabad Fort and SanjayVan organized on 8th and 9th March, 2018 respectivelyby Mr. Ankit Saroha, Assistant Professor at the institution.On first day at Tughlaqabad Fort, students covered the historical palaces, wells and courtyards. They were taught to experiment with Texture Photography, shapes and lines. According to Aditi Rai, a first year B.Sc. Cinema student- “It was an amazing experience. We were taught how to experiment with shutter speed, front light and back light.
Though reaching atop hill was a herculean task but it was worth the experience.”On second day at Sanjay Van, a sprawling city forest between Mehrauliand Vasant Kunj, students were taughttechniques of candid andportrait photography.
Other features of this photo-walk were outdoor lighting set-up, use of sun lighting as a creative technique and also the basics of macro photography. Lovepreet Kaur, another first year student, shares her experience- “We got to know about portrait photography by using reflector and diffuser. Thanks to college for planning such an activity.”Upon returning, students filtered out best shots from the plethora of photographs taken and prepared a folio of it. Overall, the photo walk was a fun and learning experience for students.
