School of Cinema Orientation Program 2018

School of Cinema organized the Orientation program 2018 to welcome students of B.Sc and M.Sc Cinema. The orientation program continued for three days comprising of various seminars, faculty introduction as well as interaction with Mr. Sandeep Marwah, President, AEG.

Well-known celebrities including Film Director Jayant Gilatar, Wildlife Filmmaker Arjun Pandey, Anurag Malhotra (Big FM), RJ Simran as well as renowned educationist Prof. Rizwan Qaiser from Jamia University and Prof. Madhu Khanna graced the occasion to bless & motivate the freshers.

The first day started with the student registration where students were given special admission kits and screening of film ‘Secret’ was showcased to them. The program took off by a motivational session conducted by Mr. Puneet Jindal, CMO, Marwah Studios which got great feedback from the students. Later on in the day, a Faculty Introduction session was held for students.

The second day took off through introduction of the syllabus by faculties of Cinema where students were introduced with the curriculum followed by a session with Ms. Disha Chandra, Registrar, where students were informed about the examination procedure as well as the grading system at AAFT. The students also got a chance to listen to the President, AEG, Mr. Sandeep Marwah alongwith a panel of delegates including Mr. Jayant Gilatar (Dir: Chalk & Duster), Dr. Rizwan Qaiser, Mr. Anurag Malhotra, Mr. Arjun Pandey and RJ Simran Kohli. Mr. Jayant Gilatar, later in the day, took a workshop on Filmmaking with the students.

The third day was the most exciting as well-known filmmaker & writer Mr. Karan Razdan graced the occasion and shared his experience during the Q/A session with the students. The panel also included well-known Political and Civil Rights activist Mr. Shehzad Poonawalla, Prof. Madhu Khanna and Mr. Rajiv Solanki, ace photographer.

There was also a small cultural program organized by School of Cinema to make students feel a part of the school and to help them shed their inhibitions by participating in dance and stand-up comedy activities, after which they were taken to their respective classes.

College orientation is one of the most exciting days in a students’ life as students are in an entirely new environment taking on an entirely new challenge, School of Cinema made sure this affair becomes a long one for them to remember.
