AAFT Journal (AAFTJ) aims to be the journal of choice among scholars studying creative fields across the discipline. The journal publishes impactful scholarship that shapes the discipline. As the official journal of Asian Academy of Film and Television it is peer-reviewed and is published half yearly. AAFTJ publishes articles in the following areas:

This track invites manuscripts that explore the creative, theoretical, and technical aspects of design across disciplines such as graphic, product, fashion, Interior, Game and experience design. Submissions may address design processes, innovation, aesthetics, speculative design, sustainability, and user-centered approaches, design theory, and related studies. |

Film and Television |
This track invites scholarly and creative works on cinematic and television narratives, production techniques, genre studies, media criticism, film history, screenwriting, direction, and evolving audience dynamics in traditional and digital environments. |

Merchandising and Retailing |
This track invites conceptual and empirical papers which aim to contribute to the general knowledge of retail and merchandising development, by studying all aspects of retail and merchandising in fashion. The study can be positioned in the consumer, employee, and/or business domains. |

Journalism and Mass Communication |
This track welcomes manuscripts examining journalistic practices, media ethics, reporting techniques, audience analysis, media convergence, digital newsrooms, and the impact of media on public discourse and democracy, journalism and mass communication, international communication, media technologies and society, advertising, public relations, journalism history, media law and policy, media management and economics, political communication and health communication. |

This track focuses on film theory, history, visual storytelling, auteur studies, cinematic aesthetics, world cinema, and cultural interpretations through the lens of cinema as both an art form and cultural artifact. |

Fashion and Lifestyle |
This track invites submissions on contemporary fashion, styling, trend forecasting, sustainability in fashion, lifestyle branding, fashion media, and the intersection of fashion with culture, identity, and technology. |

History and Culture |
This track includes topics related to the production, distribution, regulation, and/or consumption of fashion in cultural, contemporary, and historic contexts; curatorial research; dress historiography; material culture; portraiture analysis; critical theories; and popular culture. |

Interior |
This track includes scholarly and applied research on interior architecture, spatial planning, lighting design, furniture systems, color theory, sustainability in interiors, and evolving lifestyles and user needs. |

Fine Arts |
This track welcomes traditional and experimental studies in painting, sculpture, installation, digital art, visual culture, art criticism, and the role of fine arts in socio-political commentary and cultural transformation. |

Textile Science |
This track invites manuscripts on topics related to textile and apparel science. Investigation into properties and behavior of textiles and clothing in order to enhance final performance or sustainability are of particular interest. Papers can relate to functional clothing, high performance textiles and/or textile sustainability through the manipulation of fiber, yarn, fabric, finishing and dyeing technologies. |

Textile and Apparel Industry |
This track invites manuscripts about global issues in supply chain management, manufacturing processes, trade/public policy and industry studies, technological innovations in the industry, ethical and sustainable industrial practices, and other relevant industry issues. |

Photography and Videography |
This track is for submissions that explore the artistic, technical, and cultural dimensions of image-making. Topics include visual storytelling, photojournalism, cinematography, post-production, and evolving digital imaging techniques. |

Hospitality and Tourism |
This track covers hospitality operations, service excellence, experiential tourism, destination branding, sustainable practices, travel behavior, and the impact of technology on hospitality and tourism services. |

Music and Performing Arts |
This track invites creative and analytical works on performance studies, music theory, theatre, dance, sound design, cultural performances, and the role of performing arts in identity and community formation. |

Animation |
This track includes topics such as 2D/3D animation techniques, character design, storytelling in animation, motion graphics, VFX, gaming, and the integration of animation in entertainment, education, and advertising. |

Data Science |
This track invites research on data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, visualization, and their application in creative industries such as media, fashion, marketing, and design. |

Apparel Science and Technology |
This track invites research based on scientific and technology-driven approaches that highlight innovation in human-garment-environment interaction, smart textiles, performance wear, and functional clothing for improved user experience. |

Event Management |
This track invites empirical and conceptual studies on planning, design, logistics, marketing, sponsorship, audience engagement, and technological integration in the management of events across cultural, corporate, and entertainment sectors. |

Digital Marketing |
This track focuses on strategies and innovations in online consumer engagement, content creation, SEO, influencer marketing, digital branding, analytics, and the impact of social media and emerging technologies on marketing practices. |

Consumer Behavior |
This track invites manuscripts aiming to advance understanding consumer behavior. Topics include consumer decision-making processes; psychological, sociological, and situational influences of consumer behavior; emerging consumption phenomena and consumer experiences; and consumer well-being. |

Design |
This track is for manuscripts to shape the apparel design scholarship by covering topics on the creative and technical design process, design innovation, product design and development for target markets, specification development, design aesthetics, design theory, and related studies. |

Education and Pedagogy |
This track is for manuscripts that report on the results of a systematic inquiry about student learning in the textiles and clothing field. The research is informed by prior scholarship on teaching and learning and adds to the body of knowledge. |

Social Psychology |
This track is for the empirical research about social and psychological aspects of clothing and behavior. The topics for this track include but are not limited to the following: appearance management, identity, group behavior, body image, acculturation, gender and dress, and related studies in clothing and textiles. |
